MG 6 Price in Pakistan, Pictures & Reviews

Morris Garages (MG) Motors, a Chinese-owned British automotive company, is planning to introduce the first MG sedan in Pakistan, the MG 6. The car is available in the international market. Javed Afridi, the owner of MG Pakistan, has teased the launch of MG 6 in Pakistan. 

 

MG Motors Pakistan has recently acquired the greenfield status under the Automotive Development Policy 2016-20. The automotive company is currently selling imported CBU units of two SUVs- MG HS and MG ZS. Soon, MG Pakistan will start the local assembly of its cars soon. But still, if and when MG 6 joins the MG car lineup, it will come in CBU units, just like its other siblings.

Exterior

The MG 6 has a bold and sporty exterior design which stands apart from any other car in the pakistani market. The front is emboldened by MG’s signature star rider grille which houses the oversized MG badge. The bold strokes enhance the LED headlamps as well as the smart LED daytime running lights (DRLs). 

 

The rearview and side mirrors are electrically adjustable and the rear houses a rear parking camera as well as high mounted stop lamp. The intermittent wipers keep the front screen clean and shining. MG 6 also comes wth 16-inch alloy wheels. 

Interior

The fabric wrapped interior of MG 6 gives a luxurious look right off the bat. The leather-wrapped electric power steering comes with energy absorbing column. Adorned with audi control switches, the steering wheel has the feature of tilt adjustment as well. Other than that, the driver’s seat can be adjusted in six directions while the front passenger seat is adjustable in 4 directions. Two cup holders and a basic sun visor is standard like any other vehicle. 

 

The MG 6 allows keyless entry and its push button start feature adds convenience to the driving experience. The 4-seater sedan has an 8-inch integrated touch screen which allows access to all multimedia options. It supports bluetooth connectivity as well as has integrated Apple CarPlay. Two USB slots and 6 speakers complete the fun-filled multimedia experience. 

 

The electric air conditioning system keeps the whole car’s temperature uniform as there are AC vents available for rear passengers as well. Car’s inner environment can also be kept clean with the help of dust and pollen filter. Other standard features of MG 6 include power windows, auto-close windows, front airbags and driver’s seatbelt reminder.

 

The MG 6 comes with several safety an driver’s assist features such as ABS, EBD and cornering brake control. Brake assistance system and electronic stability program work together to make the driving experience easier and fun. Tire pressure monitoring system, fuel pump inertial remember switch, vehicle immobiliser, remote central door locking, speed sensitive door locking, auto door unlock on impact and central door locking are some other features in MG 6.

Engine

The 1.5L turbo petrol engine of MG 6 generates a power of 160 HP @ 5600 RPM at a torque of 250 Nm @ 4400 RPM. The car comes with 7-speed DCT automatic transmission.

There has been a revision to the springs and dampers in the MG 6, keeping the ride more balanced. A smooth response is provided by the electric steering, turning the car around sharp corners and curves swiftly. Additionally, the MG 6 handles quite well and lets passengers ride without being bothered by road bumps. The car has relatively little body roll when it is cornering, and it has a lot of traction on the road.

The car will be imported as CBU but its autoparts will still be available in the market making its manitenance convenient for consumers. 

Mileage

MG 6 gives an impressive mileage of 16.7km/l with a fuel capacity of 50 liters. It can go from zero to 100km/h in just 7 seconds.

Competitor

The MG 6 competes with Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic in the Pakistani market. 

 

Both Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic have an old age and loyal consumer base in Pakistan due to which MG 6 might face some resistance.

 

Toyota Corolla is already a popular car in the Pakistani market and is jam-packed with all the latest features. Due to its reliability and similar features, it gives strong competition to MG 6.

 

Honda Civic is also a well-known and well-liked name in the Pakistani market. Although it might be a bit more expensive than the GT, due to its outstanding performance, value for money, and vast fanbase, it gives strong competition to GT.
